How long will my presentation be at the Real Business PitchFest 2017?

  • If you accepted, each Pitch Finalist will receive 10 minutes to present their business and expansion plan and have 10 minutes of Q&A with a panel of bankers and finance experts.

Each participating organization will have only one company representative presenting to the judges and one additional person can be off stage controlling the slide presentation. Both individuals can answer questions from the judge. Real Business PitchFest will not provide staff to support you with your stage presentation, so each company must have a second company representative to assist with the presentation.

Additional individuals may be available to assist with setting up the stage and presenting the product – e.g. models, engineers, etc. These individuals will not be allowed to stay for other presentations unless they have paid to attend the conference.

The evaluation of each application is based on many factors, but the five following criteria are the most important:

  • Team/People: Who is your team and how will they make your company a success?
  • Track Record: How has your company performed in the past?
  • Financial: Financial structure, profitability, cash flow
  • Potential: Growth, longevity, sustainability
  • Goodness: How does the product/service impact or improve people’s lives and the world at large?

Each judge is an experienced banker or finance professional with a background in commercial lending, sustainable financing or financial structuring and will not be the same individual who is involved in the screening process. There will be a minimum of three panelists judging each Pitch.

Participants will have an opportunity to meet judges one-on-one the day before their pitch as well as throughout the event.

There could be up to 12 winners.

Participating companies should not mention anything about their fundraising activities and plans in their presentations and presentation materials. Examples include: whether the company is fundraising, how much a company has raised, financial projections, and terms of offering. Please reserve all conversations about fundraising to private one-on-one meetings with judges on DAY 2.
